This is one of the easiest guides on getting a cfw on any psp phat or slim. Follow the instructions below and if you need any help give me a shout on msn at nerdwatch@hotmail.com

First you need a mms
download the mms maker
Step 1. Enable USB mode on the PSP

Step 2. Run the mms maker application on the computer

Step 3. Fill in your PSP drive letter (f, e, etc) and tick the two boxes saying format memory stick and backup memory stick.

Step 4. Click Make MMS; You now have a Magic Memory Stick

Now comes the pandora battery. If you have one skip down to part three and if you dont have a psp with cfw buy a cheap pandora here for 6.90
First download ospbt
Download here
Step 1. Extract the ospbt 0.6 zip file

Step 2. Enable USB mode on the PSP WITH CFW

Step 3. Copy the "ospbt_060" folder to to the Game folder

Step 4. Turn off USB mode and run the application on the PSP

step 5. Choose Backup battery eeprom to ms0:/eeprom.bin

Step 6. Once you have backed up the psp battery, scroll down to "convert to service mode"; now your battery is pandorized.

Upgrading to 4.01 m33 (custom firmware)
Step 1. Make sure you have both the Magic Memory Stick and the Pandorized Battery in it.

Step 2. Turn on the psp while holding the L trigger down

Step 3. Choose the firmware that says 4.01 m33 and wait for it to install; You now have custom firmware
